Fashion designers have played a huge role in giving the Pakistani fashion industry worldwide recognition. Whether traditional wedding dresses, stylish formal outfits, or trendy casual attires, these designers are creating eye-catching collections every year.

  1. Maria B 

What started out as a small stitching unit in Lahore has now grown immensely to become one of the top designer brands in Pakistan – Maria B. The creative head, Maria Butt, launched the brand with a vision to make branded clothes accessible for all. Today, she owns nearly twenty-five stores in Pakistan and exports to approximately six other countries. Along with affordable ready to wear options, the label also offers a beautiful range of unstitched fabrics to cater to the masses.   

  1. HSY 

Hassan Shehryar Yasin entered the industry in 2000 with bridal and formal wear. He quickly became one of Pakistan’s most popular fashion designers. Usually known as the master of wedding couture, HSY owns six stores worldwide with the flagship store located in Lahore. He is also part of the board of directors of Pakistan’s biggest fashion institute, PIFD.  

  1. Nomi Ansari 

Nomi Ansari debuted in 2001. His collection soon made waves all over the country due to its beautiful color palettes and modern cuts. Nomi is known for his exquisite taste in color contrasts, crystal embellishment, and delicate zardozi work. He knows how to play with vibrant colors to create magic on the ramp. In addition, he truly reflects the history, heritage, and rich culture of Pakistan in his designs. He has boutiques in many cities across the globe including Lahore, Karachi, Dubai, the UK, Canada, the Middle East, Singapore, and the USA.  

  1. Nida Azwer 

Nida Azwer is another famous fashion designer that has been serving in the industry since 2005. She is considered the queen of elegance and style due to her delicate and intricate designs. Her exceptional work also gained recognition and she won the best designer award in 2009. She designs basic pret wear, luxury pret wear, and bridal wear. 

  1. Sana Safinaz 

Safinaz Munir and Sana Hashwani are two big names in the Pakistani fashion industry. They began by investing only a few thousand rupees and limited tailors. However, now their brand is one of the leading brands in the country. They started from haute couture but the growing demand for pret wear made them switch their category. Their goal was to provide high-quality dresses at affordable prices. Sana Safinaz quickly became a household name as they targeted the middle class with their lower-priced collections like Muzlin. Today, they have stores all over the country. 

  1. Sania Maskatiya 

Sania Maskatiya is popular for her versatility and unique color palettes. Her masterpieces include hand embroidery, stones work, applique detailing, and traditional gota work with multi-colored tassels. She has had the opportunity to display her designs at the Lakme Fashion Week in India. Moreover, she has received four Lux style awards due to her outstanding aesthetic sense.  

  1. Zara Shahjahan 

After her graduation from the National College of Arts, Zara Shahjahan is another popular designer in Pakistan. She started her fashion venture in 2004 and opened her first-ever store in 2012. Her work is reflective of the rich Pakistani culture and heritage. Her design house has expanded beyond borders because of her diverse understanding of various cultural genres, throughout her time in the industry. 

  1. Deepak Parwani 

Deepak started the Deepak Parwani brand in 1994. He changed the face of menswear in the country with his innovative menswear line. The label has since continued to dominate the market for men’s formal, bridal, and casual ready-to-wear clothing. 

  1. Bunto Kazmi 

Bunto Kazmi is one of the biggest names in the fashion industry. Her designs are inspired by the Mughal era. She mostly designs heavy dresses full of intricate work and beautiful embellishments. The collections are not too flashy, which is the reason her designs are so popular nationally as well as internationally.  

  1. Elan 

Elan is a famous Pakistani brand that started in 2005. Its bridal collection gained tremendous success across the country as soon as it launched. Elan is known for its elegant and modern clothing. The fusion of Swarovski crystals with zardozi, and dapka is reflective of the brand’s signature aesthetic. Elan also has a contemporary range for the modern women of Pakistan.
